Sisters and Brothers in Christ:
As the world community works together to slow the spread of COVID-19, our Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Susan Goff, has extended the requirement of online worship for all churches in the Diocese of Virginia through Easter Sunday, April 12. Her full message can be read
. Notice that this time period coincides with the closure of Richmond Public Schools, so her directive matches what is now the standard safety practice for our community.
We will continue to offer online worship which allows you to connect when it's most convenient for you. Look for the Morning Prayer service, sermon, and, starting this week, children's homily for each Sunday on the
GHTC YouTube channel
. Follow the
videos offered by me and Kim the other six days of the week. You can see all the latest videos on the
, which is being updated frequently. We are actively exploring ways to incorporate our parish musicians into our online worship services and hope to have this in place no later than for our Holy Week and Easter services.
You may have already received a phone call from one of your Vestry members. If not, expect to hear from one of them soon. We are calling every parishioner to make sure you are all doing well and are all aware of our new ways we are staying connected in our church community. Continue to hold each other, our community, our nation, and our world in prayer. Communicate by phone and email to stay in touch. Notify the church if you have information for us to share, or special needs to which we may respond.
May God's love, peace, healing, and grace be with you today, and throughout the weeks to come.
The Rev. Bill Queen
