Online Giving

Welcome to our Online Worship.   The title of my message for today is "When Life Gets You Down."  The scripture is Psalm 129.
We all have times when the grind of daily life gets us down.  We have all probably had times when people have been instrumental in putting obstacles and difficulties in our way.  This is way of the psalmist in today's scripture.  This is a psalm about perseverance in the face of life's problems.  I needed to hear this word from the Lord.  Perhaps you do, too.  May God be blessed as we worship.

Call to Worship

Opening Prayer

O Holy God, please come and reign in me.  Be the Lord of all I am.  May every thought and every word and every action reflect your presence in my life.  As I worship today, I open myself up to you to do your holy work in my life.  May your name be lifted up for you are deserving of all praise, glory and adoration.  Amen.

Giving of Tithes and Offerings

Morning Prayer

O God, we come today bringing our broken and fragmented lives into the presence of your shalom, your wholeness.  We bring our thoughts that are so prone to wandering into your eternal light.  We bring our restless spirits into the calming strength of your grace.  We give thanks to you because even in moments of great anxiety and trouble, when the very threads of our lives are hanging loose and chaotic and disconnected, we are confident that you are with us.  Forgive us, O God, when we forget that your grace and mercy always envelopes us.  Remind us again that we do not have to go it alone under our own strength and stamina.  You give us your Holy Spirit.  You empower us.  You give us the courage and strength we need to face the difficulties and the obstacles of this life.  Help us, to look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith so that when life gets us down, we do not grow weary and fainthearted in well doing.  We claim your presence in our lives.  We claim your grace.  We claim the victory we have through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Let the Redeemed

Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, may the God of encouragement and endurance and perseverance be with you, so that by the power of His Holy Spirit, you might be steadfast and immovable and full of hope, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain.  Amen and Amen.

Our Core Practices

Christ has no body on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours.  Yours are the eyes through which Christ's compassion for the world is to look out; yours are the feet with which He is to go about doing good; and yours are the hands with which He is to bless us now.
