Computer Science and Engineering Receives Grant to Attract More Women into the Field
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering received a three-year, $500,000 grant from Northeastern University’s Center for Inclusive Computing for funding efforts to attract and retain more women computer science and engineering students.
Mauricio Arias Awarded McKnight Junior Faculty Fellowship
USF Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Assistant Professor Mauricio Arias was awarded a McKnight Junior Faculty Development Fellowship from the Florida Education Fund this fall. The fellowship is designed to encourage excellence in teaching and research by freeing junior faculty from their regular duties so they can pursue research in special areas of interest.
Online Learning Ventures into a Lab Setting
As online education becomes more common, ways of imparting knowledge to students remotely are being developed and refined, to the extent that even lab courses requiring students to demonstrate what they are learning are successfully taking place.
