Music at Kohl Mansion announces its 40th Anniversary Season with an extraordinary roster of international guest artists on eight Sunday nights October 16, 2022 - May 7, 2023 in the intimate and warm acoustic of the historic Great Hall at Kohl Mansion. The season will be distinguished by the world premiere of critically acclaimed Bay Area composer Shinji Eshima’s commissioned chamber work entitled, Hymn for Her, a celebratory quintet for piano, marimba, clarinet, cello, and double bass. The Merola Opera Program 2022 Summer Festival wraps with a fully staged production of Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute). It will be performed by Merola artists for the first time since 1998. The Merola Grand Finale returns to the War Memorial Opera House stage, featuring all young artists of the summer program in a dazzling array of opera's most brilliant works.

The Cabrillo Music Festival's 60th season closes with a powerful and profound Festival commission: the full orchestral version of Guggenheim Fellow Jake Heggie's INTONATIONS: Songs from the Violins of Hope, with texts by Gene Scheer, and the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra led by Cristian Măcelaru and three spectacular guest artists: mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke, violinist Benjamin Beilman, and youth violinist Thais Chernyavsky.
