The Message this Week

Preaching Text: Luke 15:1-32

Lost and found. We have a few metal tumblers lingering here after each Sunday. I'm imagining you all searching your cars, offices, houses, soccer fields, gyms…looking and looking while your tumbler sits here at GLC, looking lonely. Of course, objects can’t think and feel…we are the ones that lose them. People make choices. Lost people feel more complicated than lost things…to us. But not to God. God rejoices and celebrates when even one turns back (repents)!

Mighty God, You rejoice when we turn to You! Help us rejoice also when we see others return to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

WONDERING...

Real questions from real people to learn more about faith.

I struggle to celebrate and rejoice when a person who has hurt me says they have changed. Do I really have to?

Our Lenten theme, Everything in Between, comes from A Sanctified Art which is a is a collective of pastors and artists in ministry who create resources for worshiping communities. Art will be featured throughout Lent and Holy Week. Click HERE to view artists' statements and HERE to view the Lenten devotional.

Join us on Wednesday evenings at 6PM now through April 9 in Fellowship Hall for Soup Suppers. Click HERE to sign up to bring a soup, salad, side or desert. We will follow with Holden Evening Prayer in the Sanctuary at 7PM.

• Send rain to places of drought and sunshine to places of flooding, that the crops of the land may again support life.
• Give leaders the courage to put aside pride and ego, to cease squandering lives and time, and to work for the well-being of all.
• Embrace all who are far from home or estranged from loved ones, and all who live with regret. Embolden your people to offer and to seek forgiveness.
• Bless the work of disability ministries, ministries by and with neurodivergent people, and multicultural and ethnic-specific ministries; that the welcome of Jesus be extended to all.

Receive the prayers of your people and draw all things together in your love, in the name of Jesus, who leads us from death to life. Amen.

Vote for your favorite soups. Winners will be featured at Wednesday Night Soup Suppers!

Be sure to vote on BOTH brackets!

Dear GLC Confirmands, children, Michelle and adult Friends,

Thank you doesn't begin to share my joy and appreciation of your healthy, tasty soup and treats. Your art will remain as my unexpected gift from you. Your sweet fudge brownies will be shared. You gift of thought, time, food and colorful artwork added so much to my day. A big thank you to all involved.
