Come create with us under the luminous summer skies, allowing yourself to be transported by the magic of the Pacific Northwest peak summer evenings during these art and writing mini retreats. These offerings embody the spirit of a creative retreat paired with summer art camp for adults. We will read and write poetry in the garden as well as engage in play and discovery through nature-based art projects. At our June retreat, we will create hanging fiber art pieces incorporating poetry and embellishing with natural materials. At our August retreat, we will create kinetic poetry sculptures exploring balance, color, and movement. These evening retreats offer you a chance to awaken your creative spark in the majesty of the natural world, cultivate new ways of enriching yourself and your life in the supportive, uplifting company of other women. These programs offer space for creative expression for women of all ages and backgrounds. All women are welcome, including cisgender, transgender, and those whose gender identity aligns with womanhood. No writing or art experience is necessary. All art materials, as well as snacks and drinks, will be provided.

ART IN THE GARDEN ~ A Celebration of Creative Community
A full day retreat with Lisa Kagan & Margaret Hartsook
Sunday August 23rd, 10:30am-5pm
SE Portland (This program will be held outside in the garden!)
Join us for a full-day art and writing retreat to soak in the brilliance of summer while honoring the light within you. We will invigorate our curiosity, engage our imaginations, and offer ourselves the chance to be inspired by nature’s beauty and abundance. We gather in celebration of creative community, illuminating the way that our shared insights, inspiration, and care can support and empower us, both personally and collectively. Through writing and art making, we will create mixed media fabric banners using a variety of surface decoration techniques including printmaking, painting, drawing, and adding excerpts from our creative writing. We will have a chance to consider what balance and harmony mean to us in the ecosystem of our own hearts amidst the push and pull of this tenuous world. This soulful gathering offers you the chance to deeply nourish and refresh yourself in the supportive, uplifting company of other women.
