Happy August!
Hi there,

I hope you attended many of the outdoor events this summer hosted by the City's great Parks and Recreation Department or by my office.

The District 6 team and I love planning and hosting free movie nights for you and your family. We are really looking forward to having you join our upcoming Longevity walk to Backesto Park on Wednesday, August 9th.

City Council meetings are resuming this month and you can always watch them live on Tuesdays beginning at 1:30PM on YouTube. To make a public comment during a meeting, see calling and commenting instructions here.

My virtual Office Hours are also resuming this August. Join me on Wednesday, August 16th on Zoom to discuss what we can do together to keep our streets, neighborhoods, schools, and parks safe, clean, and thriving.
Although summer is coming to a close, the fun doesn't have to stop. There are plenty of outdoor events in the coming weeks showcased in the newsletter you should check out. For foodies, stop by the Assyrian Food Festival or local tastes on Second Saturday on The Alameda.
Best,

Dev

Walk Safe San Jose

Walk Safe San Jose is a pedestrian safety plan that encourages walking, biking, and taking public transit. The goal is to improve pedestrian safety by providing safe routes for vulnerable road users.

Some goals are to reduce and eventually eliminate traffic deaths and severe injuries, focus on corridor-based projects like paint, cones, flexible barriers, and signage.

Please take the survey to notify the City of some of the safer walking routes in San Jose. This will inform people in San Jose's inner neighborhoods about some safe and healthy ways to go on walks!
