Hello Onyx!

Our fiscal year closure is at hand (May 31, 2025). In this last fiscal year we have perfected Membership, redesigned our website, gained a Social and Recreation Committee, added a WhatsApp social group and enjoyed a Ski Diva Ski Season Kick Off Party, Early Season Warmup with new skiers, Summit 2025, Jazz at Krate, Sundresses and Fedora's event, Bowling and a very nice Beach Bash with 46 attendees. We offered seats at the two Onyx tables at the Woodson Jazzy Juneteenth Jubilee and sold out in 10 days. Whew! we have been busy, but the calendar year still has events planned for 2025. With a new fiscal year at hand, plan to become involved and enjoy the fun. As my first year as President closes, and there is one year left on my tenure, I just want to thank you all for AMAZING!

ELECTION RESULTS ARE IN!!


Our 2025-2027 Treasurer, Financial Secretary and Trip Chairs have been elected.


Returning to continue their ongoing GREAT JOB will be Ray Campbell as Treasurer and Roslyn Wilkes as Financial Secretary.


Sonja Felton has tirelessly served us for many years as Trip Chair, and she has done an Excellent Job, but she did not return to the ballot this term.

Thank you Sonja for a job well done for many years!!!!


The Onyx Executive Board welcomes our new Trip Chair - Verneka Rhodes.


Verneka has served Onyx in many capacities over many years, and will bring many skillsets to the Executive Board.

We had a blast at the 2025 Beach Bash. This year we planned it earlier (April 26, 2025) to take advantage of the beautiful Florida Sunshine and Ft Desoto Beach. Our day included lots of beach games, cards, grilled hamburgers, hotdogs and the surf.

2025 Social Calendar
 

Sunshine Skyway Sunset Cruise with Coastal Cruises of St Pete

6810 Gulfport Blvd (Marine Max) St. Pete

May 31, 2025 7pm - 10pm


3 hr Island Sunset and Skyway Light Show onboard a 45' Custom Catamaran. Scenic trip out the Intracoastal and along Shell Key Preserve for sunset cocktails or shell collecting. On the return trip the catamaran will stop by the Sunshine Skyway bridge for the $15M light show.

Cost is $85 per person. Payment must be completed by May 20th.
