By now, you've surely heard it all...

This is certainly an unprecedented time.

Although our branches may be closed, we want you to know that we're still here for you. As you navigate through this chapter, we are hard at work to make sure that you stay connected to a wide variety of online and digital resources. We've also been busy curating a number of activities for families to enjoy as you explore the adjustment to online learning and schooling at home. In addition, we know that you have questions about your library card, your materials and what the library closure means to you. Whether you're using this time to expand your horizons or find a brief escape, we've got you covered.

And remember, we're always open at www.buckslib.org .

For Families

T eachers spend hundreds (and hundreds) of hours honing their craft and perfecting their lesson plans. As teachers and parents alike rapidly adjust to this new normal, we can offer a few suggestions to keep kids engaged while schools are out.

  • Through programs like Badge Squad and Let’s Play School, families can choose to earn badges by completing a set of corresponding activities designed to encourage literacy, creativity and fun. When the library reopens, you can visit your local branch to collect your badges!

  • We've also put together daily Boredom Busters Bitez to help inspire and stimulate creativity, whether you're exploring your neighborhood or indoors on a rainy day.

  • If you miss storytime at the library, you can host a storytime at home! We've put together a list of tips and links including rhymes, songs and stories that will help you and your little one enjoy a fun and engaging storytime in the comfort of your home!

And there's more! We've curated an exciting list of the best FREE online resources for kids at www.buckslib.org .
Frequently Asked Questions

Oh no! I forgot to renew my library card! What can I do?
Do not despair! Fill out the contact form online and we will be glad to help you renew your library card remotely. Please let us know if you need to update your personal information including your name, address, phone number or email address.

Help! I'm prompted to enter my User ID and my PIN # when I try to access some online resources, but I can't remember them.
Your User ID is the same number that appears on your library card. Your PIN is the four-digit number that you set up when you registered for your library card. If you can't remember your PIN, you can click on Request PIN on the My Account page of our website and we can email it to you.

My library materials are due. Can I return them to a book drop?
Our book drops, like our branches, are closed for business. We have extended all of our due dates and suspended the accrual of fines for the duration of this closure. You can confirm your status on the My Account page of our website. There will be fines levied for any materials left at our book drops or outside of our branches while the library is closed. In the meantime, please hold onto your materials and plan to return them when the library reopens to the public. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

When will the library reopen?
Bucks County Free Library will continue to follow the guidance of local, state and federal governments and the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). As we learn more details, we will provide regular updates through our website and social media.

We are always available online to answer any questions that you might have during this closure. For more information, visit www.buckslib.org .
