Open Community Advisory Panel Meeting
on December 11
The Valero Benicia Refinery and the Benicia Community Advisory Panel invite Benicia residents to attend a Community Education Night on Tuesday, December 11 at 4:30 PM. Attendees will have the chance to learn about refinery operations and our fenceline monitoring system.
Earlier this year, the Valero Benicia Refinery activated our Air Quality Monitoring Website to keep the community informed on air quality in Benicia.

Valero Collaborates on EMS Training
The Valero Benicia Refinery recently collaborated with the Benicia Fire Department and CalStar Air Medical Services on three joint training sessions. These trainings are designed to enhance rescuer knowledge and better coordinate efforts on the ground to safely land aircraft and assist air ambulance crews.
Fire Chief Josh Chadwick said, “these exercises promote teamwork and coordination, which are key to providing safe and efficient advanced medical care to our community”.
Congratulations to Valero employee Danny Zepeda who recently received the Chief's Challenge Coin from Police Chief Upson. Danny was at a coffee shop when he witnessed a laptop robbery. He quickly intervened and was able to retrieve the laptop.
The Challenge Coin is "an award only given to those who are truly deserving" according to the Benicia Police Department. "Community members like Danny truly make this city better."
