A LETTER FROM OPEN DOORS ATLANTA

Open Doors has been making significant strides in our mission to provide housing for individuals, veterans, and families facing homelessness and housing insecurity. Through expanding partnerships and making connections we are able to assist more people in removing barriers to housing.

Since 2013, we've housed over 11,000 individuals. We currently have 185 nonprofit referral partners and over 680 rental communities in our portfolio. We are so close to our Open More Doors campaign goal of reaching 700 properties by the end of 2024. In February 2024, we launched a new and improved Property Locator App, enhancing the user experience for our nonprofit service agency partners – making the connections to housing quicker and more efficient.

Our role as a vital link between service providers and property owners ensures that homes are always available for those in need. From housing families to veterans and individuals in crisis, our impact is tangible.

Cobb Co. organization expands program to help serve growing homeless population

Open Doors client Ravin O’Bannon, and nonprofit partner, The Center for Family Resources, along with Open Doors’ Property Navigator, Karen Cordero were featured on Atlanta News First (ANF). Ravin talks with ANF's Asia Wilson about how she overcame homelessness through a new suburban initiative to help families and individuals experiencing homelessness.

Atlanta officials and community leaders celebrate the city's first rapid housing facility, The Melody

The Melody, an innovative 40-unit access-controlled residential facility built from shipping containers, was spearheaded by Open Doors Board of Directors member, Darion Dunn through his company, Atlantica Properties. Each unit is equipped with a bed, bathroom and kitchenette, and provides a temporary residential shelter while residents work to connect with service providers. The Melody also has an on-site resident assistant. This unique approach to housing was celebrated with a ribbon cutting attended by Mayor Andre Dickens as well as other notable city leaders.
