Key Dates:

• December 15: Last day to enroll in or change plans for coverage to start January 1.
• January 1: Coverage starts for those who enroll in or change plans by December 15 and pay their first premium.
• January 15: Open Enrollment ends — last day to enroll in or change Marketplace health plans for the year. After this date, you can enroll in or change plans only if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
• February 1: Coverage starts for those who enroll in or change plans December 16 through January 15 and pay their first premium.

Meet Mark, Project Access NOW's Reporting and Data Analyst. Each month, Mark will be sharing the most interesting piece of data he came across that month.

Recuperative care is essential for individuals experiencing homelessness or poverty. It provides vital medical and social services to help people recover from illness or injury, stabilize their health, and transition to more stable living situations. By improving health outcomes, increasing stability, and positively impacting communities, recuperative care is a crucial component of a comprehensive health care system.

Client Story

This summer, our team received a request for an air conditioner from an elderly client. In talking to her, we learned a standard air conditioner would be too big for her apartment. She lived in a senior living community, and her room was quite small. Collaborating with the client and the health system, we ensured a new request was submitted for an air conditioner that fit her apartment just right.

After the client received her air conditioner, she let us know that she needed assistance to install it. She was recovering from eye surgery and couldn't see well, read instructions, or lift heavy objects. We collaborated with the health system again, this time to submit an installation request. We hired a helper to install the device for the client.

Thanks to our team going above and beyond, this senior now has the right AC to keep her cool and safe during future heatwaves.
