The open enrollment period for benefit-eligible faculty and staff will take place starting today (Monday, April 24) through Friday, May 12, 2023.

Benefits changes made during this open enrollment period are effective for the FY24 benefits plan year (July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024).

Open Enrollment is the only time each year that you can:

• Change medical plan types, such as switching from Traditional to PPO (or vice versa). To find your current plan type, please go to your Employee Dashboard. Select the Benefits drop down > Current Summary > 'My Benefit Summary', select > 'As of date: Current', select > and under 'Group Insurance Benefits - Blue Cross of Idaho Medical Plan...' your current plan type will be in the right column.

• Elect previously declined dependent dental coverage.

• Switch your premium deductions from post-tax to pre-tax or vice versa. Please note that premiums are automatically set up as pre-tax, unless otherwise discussed.

• Enroll or Re-enroll for Healthcare Flexible Spending and Limited Flexible Spending account.

• Enroll or Re-enroll for Dependent Care Flexible Spending account without a qualifying event.

• Enroll in the Health Savings Account, for those enrolled or changing their plan type in the High Deductible plan only.

• Enroll for NCPERS Life Insurance, PERSI-eligible Employees only.

• Please remember: If you miss the deadline you will not be able to enroll or decline benefits until next Open Enrollment without a qualifying life event. Please contact our ISU HR Benefits Coordinator, Janice Romero at (208) 282-3106 or benefits@isu.edu for more information.

If you DO NOT wish to make any of the changes listed above or enroll in flexible spending, there is no action you need to take during open enrollment.

All forms must be RECEIVED by the ISU HR Office no later than 3 pm on Friday, May 12. Forms submitted past this deadline will not be accepted by the State’s Office of Group Insurance.

If you would like to access the forms directly, use the links below:

• FSA Enrollment Form - for enrolling/re-enrolling in either a Medical or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA); and Limited Health Care FSA (LHCFSA)
• HSA Enrollment Form- for enrolling in the Health Savings Account
• NCPERS Enrollment Form- for enrolling in the NCPERS Life Insurance.
• Choice Card Form - used for changing medical plan options, changing premiums from pre-tax to post-tax, and/or adding dependents to dental plans. Please note that premiums are automatically set up as pre-tax, unless otherwise discussed. 
• Medical Enrollment Application - for enrolling or disenrolling dependents on the medical or dental plan. This form can be turned into the HR Office or uploaded via this secure Box link.
