What is Open Enrollment?

Open Enrollment is the time of year for benefits-eligible University of Maine System (UMS) employees to review, add, change, or waive their benefits plans to make the best choices for their families. This is the only time each year when changes can be made, barring a qualifying life event.

What do I need to do now?

If you're ready and you know what changes you want to make, you can open the guide and start making changes now. You have until 11:59 PM on November 24 to complete your changes. The changes will go into effect on January 1. The digital booklet contains more information and direct links to the resources you need to view, add, change, or waive plans.

If you are satisfied with your current plan choices and do not wish to enroll in an FSA for 2026, you do not need to take any action. Your current plan will be replaced with similar plans offered by Anthem and CapRx.

You can access Open Enrollment in Employee Self-Service directly from within the guide, available by clicking the button below, or navigate there at any time from your myCampus portal, as shown in the image below.

If you are asked to log in, use your myCampus Single Sign-on employee credentials.

What if I still have questions?

Review our earlier Open Enrollment message, which outlines how to review your current benefits and provides information about the transition from Cigna to Anthem and Capital Rx.

Don't forget!

You can add this event to your calendar to help remind yourself a few days before the close of Open Enrollment. The event includes a link to the Open Enrollment Guide.

We are proud to offer a comprehensive array of industry-leading benefit options. This is achieved through extensive collaboration and input from our bargaining units, as we continually strive to provide comprehensive total rewards offerings that strike a balance between quality and affordability.

Thank you!
