PTO CORNER

Pumpkin Math & Chicken Bog

We have a special fall tradition at CMCS and your support is needed. PUMPKIN MATH provides endless lesson opportunities in and out of the classroom for a whole school week and it's a super fun way for students to learn!

PUMPKINS! Please purchase one pumpkin for each CMCS student in your family to be used at school, and feel free to order extras for Halloween or fall decorating around your home. If you are in a position to, consider purchasing an extra pumpkin for teachers and for those families who may be struggling financially (purchase these under DONATED pumpkins).

CHICKEN BOG! Let Quigley's Pint and Plate make your Saturday a little easier! While purchasing your pumpkins, be sure to purchase this delicious family-style meal that can be picked up on the same day. The yummy Feeds-4-Meal includes: Chicken Bog, Gouda Mac & Cheese and Slaw (gluten-free option available). Order as many as you like and share the love with neighbors or CMCS teachers.

PICK UP! Come by the CMCS Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, Oct. 21, between 12-3pm, to pick up your extra pumpkins and Quigley's meals, and enjoy some family-fun activities at the MMUN Fun Fair (we’ll have bouncy houses!). What a great way to meet other CMCS families!

AFTER SCHOOL OPTIONS

Stingray Care

Stingray Club After School Care is offered each day until 5:15 PM. There will be no after school care on days that students are dismissed at 11:00 AM.

The cost is $75 per week for the first child and $50 per week for each additional sibling. The sign up, a Google form, will be published once a month allowing you to sign up for one month at a time.

Please be sure to send a snack and a water bottle with your child on the days that they will stay for Stingray Club.

If you don't have a need for daily care, or don't sign up in advance, there will be a drop in rate of $20.00 per day per child. Any student who has not been picked up in carpool by 2:35 PM will be sent to Stingray Care and incur this daily fee.

If you need to sign up for a day or more, but not the whole week, please send an email to Ms. Mhairi at mholmes@coastalmontessoricharter.org

Don't forget to sign up for Stingray Care on the monthly forms if your child attends each day. This allows us to plan for proper staffing and ensures you receive the best pricing!

Quarter 2 of after school clubs begins the week of October 16th and ends the week of December 11th, 2023. This session is 8 weeks long.

Volunteer Opportunity

Calling all partnering agencies and volunteers. Black River United Way’s annual United to Read is on November 2, 2023 from 9am-10am. Local volunteers will come and read to PreK-2nd Grade classrooms. All volunteers will read the same book at the same time across Georgetown and Williamsburg County school districts. We are planning to mobilize 200 volunteers on November 2nd.

This year’s book is “The Day the Crayons Quit” by Drew Daywalt. The book will be left for each classroom to add to their class library as well as some kind of fun activity for teachers to do at a later time with their students.
