Creative Aging Initiative Application Now Open

WHAT IS THE CREATIVE AGING INITIATIVE GRANT?


The Creative Aging Initiative grant (CAI) provides $10,000 to eligible arts organizations, libraries, veterans homes, and senior and community centers to cover costs of arts learning experiences for NJ’s older adults (aged 55 and over).


A CAI grant is defined as an arts-based learning experience that directly impacts older adults for multiple sessions. Sessions must be led by a teaching artist experienced in arts-based learning for older adults.

CAI GRANT PERIOD AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE


August 2023: Teachincal Assistance - sessions are free to attend, but registration is required. Learn more here.


Application Deadline: August 22, 2023, 12:00 PM ET. Requests for extensions to the deadline will not be permitted. No late applications will be accepted.


December 2023: Awards announced.


Grant Period: January 1, 2024 - December 31, 2023


In order to access the application, organizations must first be registered in the SAGE grants system. If your organization has never registered in SAGE, you will need to create a new account. Please review the guidelines below for more information about the registration process.


Note: Access and approval of SAGE registration is not automatic. It may take up to 48 hours to approve/validate your organization’s registration by a system administrator. Therefore, please do not wait to create a new account.



REVIEW PROCESS


The Arts Council will administer the application and selection process for these grants. The grant review panel will utilize this rubric to score applications.


Applicants are welcome to use the rubric for self-assessment prior to submission.


Note: Applications that are deemed incomplete and ineligible will not move to panel. Applicants will not be notified of missing elements to their application.
