COH Summer Pop Up Concert - Latin Night with Cuarteto Carioca on August 6th
|
Based in the Monadnock region, Cuarteto Carioca is dedicated to bringing the vibrant sounds of Latin music to New Hampshire. Their infectious blend of Brazilian Sambas, Choros, and Boss Nova; Cuban boleros and rumbas; and Argentine Tangos bring smiles to faces. As a trio, Jose Lezcano, Christopher Swist, and Marcia Lehninger are master musicians with decades of experience in the worlds of classical and popular music. They blend their individual skills and talents to bring the music of Jobim, Bonfa, Lecuona, Compay Segundo, Gardel, and Piazzolla to audiences.
On August 6, the trio becomes a cuarteto (quartet) when they are joined by the talented and versatile singer, Jazmina MacNeil. Jazmina is a classically trained mezzo-soprano, and is equally at home performing the popular songs of Brazil, Cuba, and France’s Edith Piaf.
The Latin sounds of Cuarteto Carioca will be amazing under the stars on the hillside at Arrowhead. You may want to practice your salsa steps to dance in your pod! More information about these talented artists is available here. This concert is sponsored by the Joan and Tom Kane Endowment.
