We have heard the pleas from residents and businesses over the need for increased public safety in our community. They are frustrated, angry and fearful.
As a Council, we share these same public safety concerns. We remind residents that the RCMP are responsible for public safety, and are your first point of contact. Reporting is the only way to get results, and we encourage the public to report everything that is related to public safety to the local detachment at 709-896-3383. Or, in case of an emergency, dial 911.
If you wish to take your concerns further, the 13th Council has drafted a letter addressed to Premier Hogan and Minister of Justice and Public Safety, John Haggie, on behalf of the residents of Happy Valley-Goose Bay. We encourage residents to sign the letter and forward it along to the Premier and Minister Haggie.
