Holiday Transaction Tips

Here are a few tips that will help you as you travel or make purchases this holiday season:

  • Be sure to notify the credit union of your holiday travel plans so that your out-of-state transactions are not declined.
  • If you have any trouble with your QOCU debit card during holiday travel or shopping season, please call 1-866-508-2693.
  • You may receive a call from Shazam regarding purchases if they don't match your normal spending habits. Shazam will NEVER ask you for sensitive information but rather verify recent transactions.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these holiday transaction tips, please contact the credit union. Have a happy and safe holiday season!

Fall Home Buying

Fall and even winter can be an ideal time for buyers to purchase a home.

  • Motivated Sellers: Once summer ends, sellers get more motivated. They usually lower their prices, and this provides an opportunity for you to get a better deal. In addition, many sellers want to avoid moving during the holiday season, which gives you more room to negotiate.

  • Fewer Buyers: There are fewer buyers during the fall and winter. People with children generally shop for a home during spring and summer because they want to be settled into a home before school starts.

MORTGAGE RATES ARE STILL LOW. If you need assistance buying or refinancing a home, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Dawn.
Helping Those In Need

Join us this holiday season to help Families Helping Families collect their MOST NEEDED ITEMS - Socks and Underwear.

Families Helping Families is a nonprofit organization that offers several programs to help support foster families and children throughout Iowa and the Linn County area.

Members and non-members may donate NEW socks and underwear from size 2 toddler to teen adult sizes by bringing them to the credit union between now and the end of December. If you have any questions, please contact the credit union.

Thank you for your support!
Correct Contact Information

Keeping your information up to date at the credit union is very important. Correct information helps to ensure you receive important notifications, prevents unnecessary fees, and helps to prevent fraud.

Here are a few reasons you’ll want to keep your information up to date:

  • Reduce fraud: Correct contact information means fraud alerts will reach you, and other important documents won’t be mailed to an old address.
  • Avoid Unnecessary Fees:  Correct contact information means you will receive important notices promptly.
  • Beneficiary Designation: It’s important to review and update your beneficiary information annually.
  • Forgotten Accounts: If you have money in an account that you completely forget about, there could be fees, or the funds could eventually be turned over to the state if you can’t be reached.

Please take a minute to verify or update the following information by logging into Online Banking, stopping by a branch, or giving us a call.

  • Legal name and marital status
  • Physical street address
  • Email address(s)
  • Telephone number(s)
