The Chicago Tribune repeated their support this week for a real park in the former Industrial Corridor, urging Mayor Emanuel to adopt this vision.

The Community Meeting on the North Branch Park Preserve is Monday, April 23rd at 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Little Sisters of the Poor Community Room, 2325 N Lakewood Avenue. Parking is available.

Lincoln Park High, serving the entire 43rd Ward, is committed to making sure EVERY student receives the best education possible.

Five teachers seek professional development in a program offered by the Harvard Graduate School of Education called the Project Zero Classroom, It will help LPHS adapt teaching for the wide variety of learning styles of the students at the high school.

The program is highly valued and tuition is over $3,000, plus airfare and lodging. Join #1School1Community in helping these teachers excel at the best neighborhood high school in Chicago. Contribute to the GoFundMe campaign and help send these teachers to Harvard!

Join my office and the Park West Community Association (PWCA) at a community meeting discussing a change in ownership to the Chicago B.L.U.E.S. Bar , located at 2519 North Halsted Street. 
 
B.L.U.E.S. will continue to operate as a blues music venue and bar. The City of Chicago requires the new owner to seek a new liquor license and a new Public Place of Amusement (PPA) application. 
 
I requested the new ownership explain their plans at a community meeting and answer questions from the community. My office will be present at this meeting to monitor the discussion, take notes and record your feedback. More details here .
