Required makeup for both Picture Day and Recital will be the following colors from MaryKay:

Lipliner: Berry

Lipstick: Midnight Red - Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick

Blush: Wine Berry

Eyeshadows: Candlelight (formerly Sand Castle), Shiny Penny, Espresso

Gehlen High School Dance Team Exhibition

Location: Gehlen High School Gym: 709 Plymouth St NE

at 6:30pm

Admission $5 - Adults, $3 - Students, ages 3 and under Free

Doors Open at 6:00pm

Saturday, February 28th:

Remsen St. Mary's High School Dance Team Exhibition

Location: St. Mary's High School Gym: 523 Madison St, Remsen, IA 51050 at 6:00pm

Admission Free Will Donation

Doors Open at 5:30pm

Backstage Moms NEEDED

We need your help to make our 2026 recital run as smooth as possible. Please sign up to be a Backstage Mom by choosing your student's class and performance you prefer to work backstage.  **Grandmas and Aunts may also sign up to help with classes. You may also volunteer for classes that your student is not taking.**

• By volunteering you are agreeing to:

Working Dress Rehearsal (Friday, June 5th) to learn your duties as a Backstage Mom, and the performance which you have signed up to help with. We also highly suggest attending the final class held onstage!

• By volunteering you receive:

2 tickets to any show of your choice. You will also receive a FREE Backstage Mom shirt! When you pick your class you will then be able to tell us what size shirt you would like. NOTE: WE USING THE SAME ONES AS LAST YEAR, IF YOU DO NOT NEED ONE PLEASE PUT N/A FOR SIZE. Anyone who signs up for more than one slot/shift will receive an additional two tickets per slot. Only one shirt per person. 

We will have duties and show line ups prepared for you ahead of time.

Recital routines are in full swing! Please help your dancer by encouraging good practicing habits outside of class. When dancers practice and know the information which was taught in class they are more excited about returning to class. Videos will be sent out as the routines progress to help at home.



  TIP:  Right when your dancer comes home take a video of what they remember so they can refer back to this information later in the week.

MUSIC: Music has begun to be sent out. We will continue to send as teachers are completing their cuts and tempo changes.

Attendance Reminder

Reminder that students can not miss more that 4 classes between January and Show.



VIEW ATTENDANCE: You can view your student's attendance in the Parent Portal.

MAKE UP: Students can make up in another class at the same level or a similar level. Tech classes can also be taken as make up classes for students in Ballet, Jazz and Tap. If you have any questions about what class your student can take to make up the office or the teacher would be happy to help you.

*To review our full attendance policy our Parent and Student Handbook can be picked up at the studio, review in your parent portal, or in your email.*

We will notify of any closings through CDA App push notifications, CDA Facebook Page, CDA Parent Facebook Page, Instagram, Twitter, KLEM and KTIV.

Note: CDA Policy is we allow two cancellations per class before a make up class will be scheduled. Make ups may be scheduled later in the year to ensure we don't cancel a make up day. Make up classes will not count towards student absences.

Dancers who have signed up for the Closing Number will have rehearsal from 4:00-6:00pm

March 11th-17th

St. Patrick's Week

Dancers can wear any Green Attire to class in celebration of

St. Patrick's Day.

March 15th

March 16th-21st

Full Class Observation with Costumes

All students need to BRING their costume, do not wear to class. Alternations must be completed for teachers to review.
