Interior renovations and expansion work are well underway at the Marlboro Free Library as we transform our building into a more welcoming, versatile community space. We are incredibly grateful to our community for your patience, flexibility, and ongoing support as construction continues.
The Library remains open offering limited but essential access, including:
- Hold pickups and returns
- Browsing and borrowing of new books and select popular materials
- Express printing, faxing, and scanning
- Limited computer access
-
Notary and passport services, by appointment only. To schedule, please call 845-236-7272 ext. 217.
Some regular services are not available:
Please note that during this phase of construction, patrons do not have access to the main library floor, the full collection, study and tutoring spaces, the children’s play area, the local history section, or long-term computer use. The Library cannot accommodate onsite programming or meeting groups at this time. Due to space limitations, the Library is also unable to take book donations.
Modified Library Hours:
To accommodate restroom demolition and renovation (which requires the use of outdoor facilities), the Library is operating under modified hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 12:30–6:00 PM
- Friday: 12:30–5:00 PM
- Saturday: 11:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Sunday: 1:00–5:00 PM
These hours are subject to change as construction progresses. Please check marlborolibrary.org or call 845-236-7272 ext. 217 before visiting for the most up-to-date information.
Library programs for children and adults continue offsite during construction. Program locations and updates can be found on our website, e-calendar, and social media.
Our commitment to providing access to resources remains strong. You can enjoy eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, research databases, and streaming services 24/7 through Libby, Hoopla, and Kanopy with your Marlboro Free Library card.
Your library card can also be used at any of the 66 libraries in the Mid-Hudson Library System. Items can be placed on hold from another library and delivered to the Marlboro Free Library, free of charge. Our neighboring libraries in Highland and Milton are also available for your convenience.
Looking Ahead
Interior renovations will continue through Spring 2026, and construction noise will be noticeable while work is underway. This transformative project is made possible through grants, private donations, and the Library’s Building Reserve Fund.
We truly cannot say it enough-thank you! Your support makes this project possible, and while there may be temporary inconveniences, we are excited about the revitalized library that awaits. These improvements will create a brighter, more functional space for generations to come.
We look forward to welcoming you into our renewed Library and a brighter future together!
