UPDATES ON THE ROADMAP PROJECT AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH NEWS

September is Suicide Prevention Month. This month, The Roadmap Project joins The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in promoting access to the resources our patients and families need to create a crisis plan and discuss suicide prevention. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), in collaboration with experts from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), created a Blueprint for Youth Suicide Prevention as an educational resource to support pediatric clinicians and other health professionals identify strategies and key partnerships to support youth at risk for suicide.

If there is a crisis, do not wait! It is helpful to let families know that if there are concerns related to safety, they should dial 911 or take their child to the Emergency Department.

Roadmap created "Developing a Resource List" and "Choosing a Therapist" to help clinicians create a resource list to assist patients in selecting a therapist and accessing the other supports they need.
