SoIN Goes Upside Down

Stranger Things™ Day is November 6! In honor of the final season of the hit Netflix series, Southern Indiana has officially gone “upside down.” Step back into the 80s with a trip to the Southern Indiana Visitor Center, where you can snap some photos in front of Castle Byers, the Byers’ living room and the “Upside Down”, play pinball, and shop for Stranger Things™ merchandise from Regalo!

Step into the Upside Down with the Strange Shadows painting at Pinot’s Palette on November 6. This hauntingly beautiful painting captures the eerie split between two worlds, perfect for Stranger Things Day a.k.a. the day Will Byers disappeared. 

Derby Dinner Playhouse’s Children’s Theatre presents A Velveteen Rabbit Christmas November 15 – December 20. Christmas presents come to life as a very special toy learns what is real and is changed forever in this enchanting new holiday musical based on the classic book. Santa will be at every performance! Tickets include meal, show, tax, and parking. 

The Mercantile in New Albany is hosting a Christmas Open House on November 6 from 3 – 8 p.m. Come enjoy complimentary refreshments while you shop their new holiday collections.  

It’s 1883, and a Victorian bride’s dream wedding is in jeopardy after the rarest flower in her bouquet is stolen the night before the ceremony. Dress for a botanical wedding and join Botanica Mysterium, an immersive mystery experience at the Culbertson Mansion on November 15. Help find the missing bloom before she says, “I do.”  

Threads of Industry explores the rise and fall of New Albany's textile and garment industries through powerful photos and artifacts. Discover how factory life—especially for women workers—shaped the local economy from the 1860s to the 20th century, including a 1936 strike that led to martial law. On exhibit at the Floyd County Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center now – January 31.

Citizens of Oz, rejoycefy! Be among the first to experience Wicked: For Good at Xscape Theatres’ premium early access screenings on November 19! Enjoy both parts during a Wicked + Wicked: For Good double feature November 20 – 23. Check website for more events!
