PPP Loan Forgiveness

Last week, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced the opening of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) direct forgiveness portal. The new portal was created to streamline applications for loan forgiveness for loans of $150K or less. With more than 6.5 million businesses falling into this category, the SBA hopes this move will get relief to the smallest of businesses quicker. However, lenders must first opt-in to the program through Borrowers can begin to apply on Wednesday, Aug. 4, according to this SBA news release. Check with your lender before trying to access the direct forgiveness portal. Borrowers that need assistance or have questions should call (877) 552-2692, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. EST.

Chamber Members Helping Each Other

We know this happens more than we are aware of, but this week we learned about how one of our Batavia Chamber of Commerce members stepped in to help Lazarus House. Gold member Innovative Telephone & Data Solutions learned of the need for a phone system at the nonprofit homeless shelter. They donated a new phone system and monthly service.

In the words of Lazarus House, "They have been so professional and were able to change us over so smoothly to our new system. We cannot thank them enough!! Truly amazing company!"
