Happenings in and around the Chamber!
Welcome to Our New Member!

Happy Monday!

Did you miss us earlier today? If you read last week's Weekly Digest, you'd know that we are trying out a Monday at noon distribution, rather than 8:30 a.m. Hopefully, you will find it helpful to get our update later in the day to read over lunch.

COVID vaccines remain a hot topic. Last week we had another update for businesses from the Kane County Health Department. Here is a link if you'd like to listen to the recording of the February 17 event. Another update is scheduled for Wednesday, March 10 at 11:30 a.m. We will share registration information once we receive more details.

Here is a COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard for Kane County. Here is the COVID-19 Vaccine landing page on the Kane County Health Department's website. Questions about the vaccines can be sent to COVIDVaccine@co.kane.il.us.

Reminder! PPP Loans are Still Available

Applications for the current PPP loans are open until March 31, or until the allotted funds are depleted, whichever comes first. Last week's Multi-Chamber Boot Camp session concerned the PPP Round 2. Here is a link to the slides used by presenter Sara Troyer, director of the Illinois SBDC at Elgin Community College. It includes information about the links to the forgiveness applications, too.

There is one final informational webinar scheduled by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity's Office of Regional Economic Development:
  • Tuesday, February 23, at 9 a.m. Register Here

Many of you have been viewing Mayor Schielke’s weekly videos; here is the link to watch last week's version, recorded on Friday, Feb. 19. The Mayor acknowledges the difficulties surrounding COVID-19 vaccines, but also thanks Batavians for showing their kindness and support of each other.

We continually update our home page, bataviachamber.org when new resources and information comes out. Also, check our calendar for new events from us and the community.

As always, we are now, and will be in the future, here for you.

Most sincerely,

Margaret, Patti and Shirley

The two businesses will be honored in March as Annual Awards for Business Excellence winners by the Daily Herald's Business Ledger. The AABEs highlight successful suburban businesses and organizations and honor the people who make them successful.
These awards are given for business achievement, growth, and community involvement. We are proud that we could nominate them for their accomplishments and thrilled that both outstanding businesses will receive recognition!
