COVID vaccines remain a hot topic. Last week we had another update for businesses from the Kane County Health Department. Here is a link if you'd like to listen to the recording of the February 17 event. Another update is scheduled for Wednesday, March 10 at 11:30 a.m. We will share registration information once we receive more details.

Applications for the current PPP loans are open until March 31, or until the allotted funds are depleted, whichever comes first. Last week's Multi-Chamber Boot Camp session concerned the PPP Round 2. Here is a link to the slides used by presenter Sara Troyer, director of the Illinois SBDC at Elgin Community College. It includes information about the links to the forgiveness applications, too.

Many of you have been viewing Mayor Schielke’s weekly videos; here is the link to watch last week's version, recorded on Friday, Feb. 19. The Mayor acknowledges the difficulties surrounding COVID-19 vaccines, but also thanks Batavians for showing their kindness and support of each other.

Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity is sharing the news that a free COVID testing site has opened in the ReStore Aurora parking lot. The site, at 2302 W. Indian Trail, is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. You are asked to bring an identification and insurance card. No appointments are necessary. The site is managed by FreeCovidCare; more information is available on their website, or call (833) 219-7867.

Kluber Architects + Engineers, an in-house architecture and engineering firm, has closed on the future site of their new office building on 41 W. Benton St. in Aurora.
