Each week, we plan to share a story, photo, or even a testimonial from our archives. We do have seventy years worth of material to work with, so who knows what we'll find!

BMO Harris Bank, 155 W. Wilson, hosted our January Net-Working It! on the 18th. We were pleasantly surprised when the bank's branch manager, Brian Lawyer, showed us a typewritten Batavia Chamber of Commerce membership list dated 3/22/1973 that they found in a closet in the basement.

At that time, the First National Bank of Batavia occupied that building, with Robert Madjak as president. According to the list, there were 109 members at that time, including nine that we list as members today. Because of mergers and name changes, there are a few on this list that are in our membership of 464 today under different names, such as BMO Harris Bank.
