Already it is the end of July! We hope that you are enjoying your summer.
The Batavia Chamber continues to search for ways to help our businesses and the community. Please let us know if you have an idea – we are willing to explore it with you.
We were excited to welcome Gia Bella Designs to Batavia with a ribbon cutting ceremony last Friday, July 24. Jill Equi found a new home for her beautiful décor and clothing boutique in the historic Newton House. Jill and her husband have been working diligently to bring back the charm of this building’s interior – so, stop by to shop! You will find them open daily 10 – 4. A photo is below.
One of our members alerted us this week that a solicitation for sponsorships for the Batavia School District is not necessarily legit. There are imposter marketing companies that do not represent or support our local organizations. Please be sure your sponsorship dollars go to the Batavia parent organizations and booster clubs that you intend. Unfortunately, this is a recurrent scam in our community. Here is a
to authorized Batavia parent organizations. If you are uncertain, call BPS 101 at (630) 937-8800.

Many of you have been viewing Mayor Schielke’s weekly videos. You can access the July 24 video by clicking this
This week, he talks about the Batavia Police Department and a different scam than the one we mentioned above. In Batavia history, Mayor Schielke shares stories about time and temperature signs in Batavia and overhead banner signs. We hope to pique your interest by mentioning that both have caused accidents in Batavia. Watch the video to learn the rest of this story.
Please scroll down for many new events and other content. If you have news to share, remember to send it to us! We continually update our home page,
when new resources and information comes out. Also, check our
for new events from us and the community.
Our local businesses need your support – please remember to shop local! As always, we are now, and will be in the future, here for you.
