Mother Nature was kind to us on Friday as we hit the sweet spot between two heat waves. The Orchard Valley Golf Course was in beautiful shape - thank you for hosting us! Thank you to our sponsors and golfers - the reports from all involved were positive! We had many returning golfers as well as a few who have never golfed before.

New this year was our Putting for a Cause to help raise funds for our Inspire Scholarship fund. Between raffle sales and the putting game, we are adding $2,420 to the fund. Thank you to all who bought raffle tickets or putted for a chance to win a bottle of liquor. A huge thank you to all who donated wine, beer, mixers, liquor and gift certificates - we couldn't have done this without you!

Keep in mind that we'll do this again next year...you'll want to register 'fore' a great time!

If you've been in our lobby, you likely have noticed that we display our members' literature and business cards for the public to view and take. A week ago, Aurora Area Convention & Visitors Bureau Marketing Director James Cardis (shown right) saw that we could use more display space. Turns out that the Aurora Area Convention & Visitors Bureau had an extra one and offered to donate it to us. Executive Director Cort Carlson (left) and Jim delivered it to our lobby this morning!

The Batavia Fireworks Committee (ten hard-working citizens of Batavia) has to raise $40,000 each year to put on this amazing show that sets off fireworks to music. Taxpayer dollars have NEVER been used to pay for these fireworks; therefore, each year new monies have to be raised to make this annual tradition in our town possible. Presently, we are several thousand dollars short of our goal for delivering another fabulous Sky Concert on July 4th. Read the entire press release to learn how you can help.
