Happenings in and around the Chamber!
Happy Monday!

So...was the groundhog wrong last month? Last week's thaw was a welcome respite from the snowstorms and chilling temperatures - we'd be fine with above-freezing temperatures continuing!

COVID vaccines and information remains fluid. After a decrease in vaccinations a week ago, this past week saw a resurgence in appointment availability and vaccines administered. It is expected that this trend will continue, as the federal and state governments are promising a surge in vaccine availability - especially with the approval for emergency use of the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

For seniors (and those helping them) who are trying to access vaccinations, the Kane County Health Department offered tips and insight in a press release distributed last Friday. The Kane County Health Department also said that they will phase in 1b part 2 eligible residents in their clinics as more vaccine becomes available.

Here is a COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard for Kane County. Here is the COVID-19 Vaccine landing page on the Kane County Health Department's website. Questions about the vaccines can be sent to

Reminder! PPP Loans are Still Available

On Monday, February 22, President Biden announced various changes to SBA's coronavirus relief programs to ensure equity. The changes include a 14-day, exclusive PPP loan application period for businesses and nonprofits with fewer than 20 employees. The two-week period began on Wednesday, February 24 and is valid through March 9th. Read the announcement, with changes here. Applications for the current PPP loans are open until March 31, or until the allotted funds are depleted, whichever comes first.

Many of you have been viewing Mayor Schielke’s weekly videos; here is the link to watch last week's version, recorded on Friday, Feb. 26.

We continually update our home page, when new resources and information comes out. Also, check our calendar for new events from us and the community.

As always, we are now, and will be in the future, here for you.

Most sincerely,

Margaret, Patti and Shirley
