Happenings in and around the Chamber!
Happy Monday!

We wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving! However and with whomever you are celebrating, enjoy the day and each other.

During this time to count our blessings, we agree that our families, our Chamber members and our community all rank high on this list. The Chamber office will be closed on Thursday and Friday, but we will be open next Monday as usual.

Festive Windows

We urge you to shop and dine local on Small Business Saturday - and always! As you shop Batavia's downtown, look for QR codes - these businesses are participating in the holiday decorating contest sponsored by Batavia MainStreet. You can vote via the QR code beginning Saturday, Nov. 27. We are participating and Patti, our special events coordinator, has once again shown her fantastic creativity in the small space we have to work with. Thank you to Batavia Enterprises for the lights and garland outside of our building, 106 W. Wilson Street - we love it! So remember, vote for the Batavia Chamber windows beginning on Saturday - and vote often...LOL.

Mayor's Weekly Update

The Mayor's update from Friday, Nov. 19 can be viewed here. In it, he spoke about next Sunday's Celebration of Lights in downtown Batavia. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. Santa Claus is expected to arrive at 5:30 p.m. and will greet children in the Peg Bond warming house after the ceremonial tree lighting. The entire schedule of activities is available on the Batavia Park District Special Events page.

We continually update our home page, when new resources and information comes out. Also, check our calendar for new events from us and the community. Make certain you check the calendars regularly!

As always, we are now, and will be in the future, here for you.

Most sincerely,

Margaret, Patti and Shirley

Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity Batavia Home Dedication - Welcome, George and Janice Owino!
The Batavia Chamber of Commerce was pleased to participate in the new home dedication for the Fox Valley Habitat of Humanity in Batavia last Saturday, Nov. 20. On a chilly day, our hearts were warmed by the gratitude expressed by Batavia's soon to be residents, George and Janice Owino. Chamber President and CEO Margaret Perreault served as the master of ceremony, which featured wonderful congratulatory messages from several of our members who donated to and worked on this first home for the young couple.

Batavia Chamber members include First Centennial Mortgage Corporation with Steven McCormick, the overall sponsor of the home. Also participating were Orange Home Services with Jim and Cindy Cannella, Accurate Door with Lisa Farley, and the Batavia Woman's Club with Cynthia Kieckhefer, club president.
