Gratitude = Happiness.  How can something so simple as being grateful really make you happy?

Gratitude is being incorporated in more articles about business stating it creates a more enjoyable workplace and increases profits.

The awareness of gratitude is growing in the schools, churches and communities.

Simple gratitude helps us to stay positive when there is so much negativity surrounding us.

Looking into this scientifically, practicing gratitude rewires our brain pathways. Consciously looking for a blessing in our life, that day, or simply in the moment creates a pathway of positivity. The more we practice the more the pathway is used. The more we use that pathway and rehearse that behavior the more natural it becomes. Therefore simply by rehearsing the 'gratitude' pathway, an older habitual pathway, say complaining, is used less.  The 'complaining' pathway will be unlearned and the 'gratitude' pathway will become our new normal.

In honor of this month being Thanksgiving, let's start a new way of living and grow our gratitude. I challenge you all to begin today and for the month of Thanksgiving (or at least for the next 21 days as that is how long it takes to make or break a habit) write down three gratitudes each day.  Three unique and original gratitudes each day.  Scan your world for the small miracles. What tickles your soul, sprinkles joy in your heart, showers you with a dose of happiness? Could you be a recipient of a simple act of kindness or possibly give one? Was your day slowed down enough from the regular rat race and what did you notice? This activity challenge will open a whole new perspective.
