What brought you to start your business or get into your industry? Alkagem is in the health & wellness industry via water filtration & ionization. I have been interested in fitness & nutrition since I was a teenager. This interest will never go away. We can always improve our health in all aspects while we’re still breathing. I taught English in South Korea for two years after graduating college. I also spent three years living in Australia and New Zealand. These experiences opened my eyes to the outside world and how foods and often liquids are just plain different. Food and water is less manipulated in many other first world countries compared to here. There is lead, arsenic, chlorine, contamination, and more in our tap water. There are GMOs, added sugars, high fructose corn syrup, serving sizes, and artificial additives in our food. All of these are detrimental to our health. I neglected the water I drank until the last few years…
I myself have experienced two vascular surgeries at a young age. I have an autoimmune disease with previous gastrointestinal issues, and heart disease runs in my family. When I moved to Colorado in 2019, I became a Medicare Insurance Agent & Consultant for two years. I always concentrated with my clients on health education, natural nutrition, and long term preventative maintenance. Wellness is way LESS EXPENSIVE than sickness! I made the transition into Alkagem in 2021 being an Alkaline water advocate for years prior to discovering this company. We at Alkagem happen to do alkaline water better in an all natural process, compared to your recognizable Essentia & LifeWater. We use zero plastic bottles (more toxins & contaminants) and naturally ionize the water for added antioxidants. I hope to make this my life long educational journey providing clean, health benefiting water to Colorado and the world. Access to clean water moving forward is becoming more and more difficult.
What do you love most about what you do? I love bringing to light how contaminated our water & foods actually are; this leads to people hopefully living a healthier lifestyle. Health is habitual. Until the internet became mainstream in the early 2000s, we had little access to the abundance of information we have at our fingertips nowadays. With my personal and professional experiences, and the passion to lead a healthy life, Alkagem is my dream career. I enjoy networking at events and meeting every new client. I like to think our clients begin a health kick with our water and then continue to improve all aspects of their diet.
How can the Chamber help you? The Chamber can help me by making aware who we are and what we do at Alkagem. I am here to answer any questions on our water systems and to promote lifelong health. There’s a reason Denver County provides low end Brita filters to every resident to filter their water…We want to change the quality of water people here drink and benefit their health. I am lucky to be in networking groups with such amazing health & wellness entities such as Hydrate IV Bar - Katie Wafer Gillberg and Amy Dickerson, Taste Life Nutrition - Nikki Burnett, Lifetime Wellness & Chiropractic - Isaac Mooberry, CYL Sauna - Crystal Callipari, and Angie Goddard - Green Compass Global…just to name a few! We love being a part of the Cherry Creek Chamber, and I hope to meet every one of you eventually!
