Craft Beer Samples

Calicraft Brewing Company and Mike Hess Brewing will be pouring craft beer samples to those 21 years or older with a valid ID. We're sure you're going to like what you taste!

Calicraft and Mike Hess taprooms will be open during Made in the Shade and you're invited to visit Calicraft at 2700 Mitchell Dr., and Mike Hess at 2313 Oak Grove Rd. in The Orchards.




The Orchards shops and restaurants will be open during Made in the Shade .

Look for "Event Parking" signs. Plenty of free parking:

• 2nd floor rooftop parking at The Orchards

• Walnut Creek Executive Park parking lot bordered by Shadelands Drive directly across the street from the venue

OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

National Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks unite communities behind the American Cancer Society's efforts to save lives from breast cancer.

Every year, Muir Orthopaedic Specialists participates in the Walnut Creek walk under the name Team Shannon in honor of a beloved colleague who passed away from the disease.

FREE OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER (OCD) AWARENESS EVENT
OCD Awareness Week is an annual international effort that takes place during the 2nd week in October to raise awareness and understanding about obsessive compulsive disorder and related disorders, with the goal of helping more people to get timely access to appropriate treatment.

Rogers Behavioral Health is recognizing OCD Awareness Week 2018 with a free informative and inspirational event for individuals, families, community members, and treatment professionals.

COCOSPA LOOKING AHEAD TO 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR
Open enrollment for the 2019-2020 Contra Costa School of Performing Arts school year begins Oct. 1, 2018, and closes Jan. 30, 2019, 4pm. Students 5 th –10 th grade can enroll at CoCoSPA . Click on Enrollment .
 
Acceptance letters will be sent in early Feb. 2019. If majors are full, a lottery will be held on Feb. 13, 2019, 7pm.
 
CoCoSPA is still accepting students for the 2018-2019 school year, grades 6-10. Follow the same procedure and links.

CANNABIS EDUCATION DAY
Radicle Health co-sponsored and participated in Contra Costa's first-ever Cannabis Education Day , attended by close to 300 people, on September 8 at Todos Santos Park in Concord. Speakers included cannabis industry leaders, local elected officials, patients, authors, and activists.

Radicle Health CEO Timothy Byars spoke on Common Myths about Cannabis , and CVO Eloise Theisen spoke on Clinical Implications .
