Our team is working hard to prepare our building for the upcoming school year. A special welcome to Dave Kesy, who will be helping us with building maintenance and cleaning. If you see Dave around, please stop, introduce yourself, and help us welcome him to the St. Gabriel Parish School Community.

Welcome, Dave!

We are thrilled to welcome Linda Reinowski to the St. Gabriel Catholic Parish School family this fall as our new K5 teacher!

Summer Activities at

St. Gabriel Catholic Parish School

Catholic Youth Leadership Program:

Our Young Catholic Leaders (YCL) program had a fantastic week last week! We had seven middle school students participating this summer who grew in faith, leadership, and service.

Each day began with prayer or Mass, followed by learning from a Saint of the Day. Students learned from St. Joan of Arc's courage in following God's call and visited the historic St. Joan of Arc Chapel at Marquette University. They also learned from St. Teresa of Calcutta's example of serving others by preparing brown bag lunches for Street Angels Milwaukee.

Throughout the week, our students put leadership into action through service projects at St. Gabriel and Linda's Menagerie, where they helped care for animals, completed outdoor projects, and learned the inspiring story behind the ministry. They also assisted the parish by stamping envelopes and stuffing bulletins while practicing teamwork and collaboration through fun activities and games.

Most importantly, they are learning that true leadership begins with serving others. This week, these amazing young people will put their leadership skills into action as leaders for Vacation Bible School!

A special thank you to Emily Gartzke, Alum Cassidy Klebsch, Alum Rachel Kohls, and Alum Ava Lisiecki for generously sharing their time and talents to mentor our teens. We are grateful for your support and dedication! A special thank you to Lea Rosenberg, Director of Youth Ministry, for leading this program.

VBS:

Passport to Peace is a Vacation Bible School (VBS) program structured like a global travel journey to teach children about faith, conflict resolution, and peacemaking—all supported by middle school youth leaders who help guide and mentor the younger kids throughout the week.

Each day, the participants rotate through a structured schedule:

🙏The Journey Begins: Kids "check in" to learn about real-world global peace heroes and watch interactive skits about solving everyday conflicts.

🙏Learning & Creating: Supported by their middle school leaders, they dive into reconciliation-themed Bible stories at Bible Beach and make hands-on art projects (like sand art and Japanese bowls) at Creator's Canyon.

🙏Reflection & Closing: After snack and recess, they visit quiet prayer stations around the campus for Meditation Mountain and wrap up the day together with worship music and the Prayer of St. Francis.

Volleyball Camp:

🏐 What an Incredible week at Volleyball Camp! 🏐

Our Volleyball Camp was a HUGE success! We reached maximum player capacity and even had a waitlist—a true testament to the excitement and enthusiasm surrounding our program.

Throughout the week, campers worked hard to build their volleyball skills while having an absolute blast. From serving and passing to teamwork and friendly competition, every day was filled with energy, growth, and fun. More importantly, our student-athletes demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, respect, perseverance, and teamwork both on and off the court.

A special thank you goes out to all of our volunteers, alumni, coaches, and parents who helped make this camp such a memorable experience. Your time, encouragement, and support created an environment where every camper could learn, grow, and enjoy the game.

And an extra-special THANK YOU to Peggy Sanglaub, our Volleyball Camp Coordinator, whose passion, organization, and leadership brought this incredible week to life. The success of camp is a direct reflection of the countless hours and dedication Peggy invested to create an outstanding experience for every participant.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Volleyball Camp one to remember. The smiles, excitement, friendships, and memories made this week truly special!

🏀 The fun isn’t over yet! Basketball Camp is coming up next month, and we can’t wait to see another group of athletes learn new skills, make new friends, and create more unforgettable memories.
