Opportunity for a 2nd Parent/Teacher Conference:
Input from our end-of-year survey last school year showed that some families are interested in having time set aside later in the school year for parent/teacher conferences. While all of our in-service days were already booked with professional development activities for the 2025-2026 school year, we were able to set aside the afternoon of Friday, February 6th (grades 1-8) and Wednesday, February 4th (K4 & K5) for those families who would like to schedule time to meet with their child’s teacher(s).
While the fall conferences on the 23rd and 24th of October were mandatory, the spring conferences are optional. More information can be found in the classroom newsletters. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you are interested in scheduling a time to meet.
Support Our Troops and One of Our School Families:
It has been brought to our attention that Lilly and Rosaleigh Kalinoski’s father, Steve Kalinoski, will be deploying to Kuwait for nine months. He is scheduled to leave on February 4th. Their mother, Beth, shared with us that it is a long-standing tradition for civilians and military families to wear red on Fridays as a way to show support for deployed service members.
In honor of Mr. Kalinoski and his family, Monday, February 2nd (since school is cancelled tomorrow) will be an out-of-uniform day. We invite everyone to wear red to help show our appreciation and support for his service and sacrifice.
Mr. Kalinoski’s commitment does not go unnoticed. We stand with him in gratitude and support, and we recognize that the families of our service members are heroes in their own right. We honor and appreciate their sacrifice as well.
Thank you for helping us come together as a community to show our support.

Winter Weather is Here:
We all knew that the time would eventually come when we would have to talk about the cold temperatures and snow. That time is upon us. The snow is beautiful, but it comes with some additional safety precautions. Here are a few reminders about our winter weather protocols.
- Please make sure that your children come prepared to go outside for recess each day during winter. They will need boots, hats, and mittens. If the temperature, including the wind chill, is below 10 degrees, recess will be indoors.
- The sidewalks may be slippery! During drop-off and pick-up times, please remind your child(ren) to be extra careful getting into and out of your car. Also, please do not allow your children to walk behind the cars. We have had “fender benders” in the line and do not want anyone getting hurt.
- Please remind your children that playing and building in the snow at school is ok; however, they cannot throw snow. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, snowball fights will need to be saved for home.
-
If we need to close school due to inclement weather, a notification will be sent to parents via email and text. The notification will also be posted on our website and Facebook page. In addition, we will report our school closing on TMJ 4, FOX 6, and WISN 12.
Cold and Flu Season is Upon Us:
We are doing all we can to prevent the spread of germs here at school, but ‘tis the season. Please help us prevent the spread of colds and the flu bug in our school. If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home. A student should not be in school if they need medicine to make it through the day.
Reminder: Students should be fever-free (without medication) and have no instances of vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school after an illness. If they are experiencing discomfort (headaches, persistent cough, sneezing, etc.), they should stay home. Please contact the school office as soon as possible whenever your child will be absent. If your child sees a physician for their illness, please remember to request a medical excuse for their absence from school. This should be turned in to the office upon their return.

5th Grade Science
Our students are bringing ecosystem learning to life! They explored decomposers and the important role worms play, then put their knowledge into action by adding red worms, leaves, and sticks to our outdoor compost bin.
| | | | Beginning last week, students will take turns adding lunchroom food waste and mixing the compost. This hands-on responsibility has them eager and engaged, while reinforcing environmental stewardship and care for God’s creation. | | In the classroom, students are also growing lettuce using a mini hydroponics system. The seeds are already germinating, and once grown, students will be able to take home fresh, organic lettuce to share with their families. Another highlight of hands-on learning at its best! | |
|
IXL Knowledge Lab:
Last week, our middle school students answered over 2K questions in 136 different skills!!! Mrs. Jungwirth & Mrs. Erdmann are so proud of their hard work and dedication!
AND
Starting this week, 4th & 5th graders had the opportunity to participate in the IXL Knowledge Lab with Mrs. Burns and Mrs. Kohls! We can't wait to see them set and surpass their learning goals!
| | |
A BIG THANK YOU to these middle school students who helped stuff the 2026 auction invitation/RSVP cards last week during recess. We are so grateful for their help!!!
Please join us for our annual parish and school fundraising event - This year's theme is taking us to Ireland at The Clover and Cross Gala!
RSVP before Feb. 1 to save $50. Use this link to RSVP.
