Gazettte

Hello St. Gabriel Families,

Check out the following headlines and links to stay updated on everything happening at St. Gabriel Parish School.

The headlines that are highlighted are NEW or UPDATED for this Gazette.

As you scroll towards the bottom of the Gazette, there are various messages/events/needs from our parish and school committees like the HSA (Home and School Association), ATHLETICS, ADULT & YOUTH MINISTRY, etc. Please continue to scroll down to the end of this email to see all that is happening at our vibrant school and parish!

Safety Drill:

Ask your student(s) what you should do or where you should go if we ever need to evacuate while in the church. On Wednesday morning, we practiced that scenario with Captain Penny Schmitt. We discussed where all the exits are in the church and practiced evacuating quickly and quietly. We even practiced what to do if some exits were blocked.

The students learned they should remain quiet and listen/watch their teacher. It is imperative that they stay with a teacher so we can accurately and efficiently take attendance after an evacuation to ensure that all students are out of the building.

So, this weekend, while at Mass, ask your child where the exits are and where you should go if we need to evacuate. It’s always a good idea to be prepared and have these conversations before an emergency.

Fire Poster Contest:

Each year, our students have the opportunity to participate in a Fire Safety Poster Contest through the Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin Charitable Group.

This year, there were over 900 posters submitted, with 41 students winning. Out of those 41 students, St. Gabriel's had 10 winners!

Each student who won received a gift certificate and their poster framed.

The winners are:

  • K4 - Ben Meyer: 3rd place
  • K4 - Ben Muth: 2nd place
  • Grade 1 - Preston White: 1st place
  • Grade 4 - Hailey Berger: 3rd place
  • Grade 5 - Ike Borgen: 3rd place
  • Grade 6 - McKenna Breidenbach: 1st place
  • Grade 6 - Emma Sannes: 3rd place
  • Grade 7 - Will Heus: 1st place
  • Grade 7 - Paul Senglaub: 2nd place
  • Grade 8 - Grace Heus: 1st place

Congratulations to all of our winners!

Reminder from the School Office:

In case of an absence or appointment, it is pertinent that you email or call the school office prior to the start of the day to inform the school of your child’s absence. You can email and/or leave a message at any time, which will be retrieved at the start of the school day. Please email

lschuh@sgabriel.org or call 262-628-1711. We appreciate your help and understanding, as this alleviates the extra calls and time to contact the parents after the fact.

From the Business Office:

  • Tuition Statements were emailed on March 10 from quickbooks@notification.intuit.com. These statements included Credits from our Scrip Rebate Program. The February total Tuition Credits went to 17 families for a total of $264.
  • ASLP Statements were also emailed on March 10 from quickbooks@notification.intuit.com. Please remember that this is a register and pay in advance program. Positive balances are overdue to St. Gabriel. Negative balances reflect your paid-in-advance status.
  • Reminder that your Calendar Year 2025 Tuition and ASLP Statements were emailed on January 15-16, 2026.
  • For questions on your account, please contact Laura Rogacki in the parish office 262-628-1141 or lrogacki@stgabrielhubertus.org.

Vacation Bible School at St. Gabriel!

Our VSB will be in the morning, the week of June 22-26, from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Through worship and drama, Bible study, art projects, and active games, children learn that there are many opportunities and ways to live as peacemakers. Passport to Peace invites children to see every person as part of God’s family, and every interaction as an opportunity for peacemaking.

In a world that is too often divided by race, class, ethnicity, and country of origin, Passport to Peace is a reminder that the love of God and the way of peace transcend all borders and divisions. All are welcome in the family of God. Led by God’s Spirit, we can all participate in creating a more peaceful world.

Open to all school and parish incoming K5 - 5th-grade students.

Wear comfortable clothes and bring a snack.

Led by St. Gabriel Parish School Teachers, Mrs. Erdmann and Mrs. Kohls, and Mrs. Rosenberg from our parish formation program.
