2026 Open House Thank You:

A heartfelt thank you to all of the volunteers who made Catholic Schools Week and our Open House such a tremendous success. Your time, energy, and joyful spirit truly made these events special.

We are deeply grateful to our dedicated teachers and staff, the MARRC Committee and parent ambassadors, our students, and our alumni, who all came together in support of St. Gabriel Catholic Parish School. Through your efforts, our school community welcomed five touring families with warmth, pride, and faith.

Because of you, St. Gabriel truly SHINED. Thank you for being such a vital part of our parish and school community and living our mission to PROCLAIM, FORM, & LIVE!

Influenza:

The flu bug has been making its way around the school (among both students and staff). Symptoms include, but are not limited to,

  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Sweats

These symptoms can come on suddenly and linger for a few days. If your child has symptoms, please keep them home and monitor them closely. Students must be symptom and fever-free, without medication, for 24 hours before returning to school. If your child needs medication to make it through the day, please keep them home. We are trying to keep everyone as healthy as we can during these cold winter months.

Please remember…

  • If your student is out ill, call the office or send Mrs. Schuh an email to let her know.
  • If your child will be late, please contact Mrs. Schuh so she can record the late arrival and order a lunch if needed.
  • If your child visits the doctor for their illness, please request an excused absence form and turn it in to the office for our attendance records.

Catholic Schools Week!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Catholic Schools Week last week. Our teachers planned so many meaningful and fun activities, and we truly appreciate the hard work and dedication that made the week so special. We hope you enjoyed hearing the many joyful and heartwarming stories shared each day from your children. Here is a sampling of pictures from each day.

7th Grade Math:

Our 7th graders put geometry to work by creating scale drawings and designing bridges built to hold weight and withstand a simulated earthquake.

Using the engineering design process, students planned, built, tested, revised, and improved their structures - applying math skills to solve a real-world problem through hands-on learning.

Great job, kids!

4th Grade:

Our fourth-graders are building real-world financial skills through their Classroom Economy. During a recent Natural Disaster simulation, students put those lessons into action as desk “owners” and “renters.” Owners were responsible for covering repair costs, while renters learned how landlords—played by Mrs. McAleer—handle property damages. Students reviewed three repair quotes and made informed decisions about which company offered the best value. A hands-on and engaging way to learn financial literacy in action.

4th Grade:

Another fun 4th-grade activity. The students participated in a hands-on learning PLTW investigation on how chemical weathering affects different rocks. They placed sedimentary rocks into an acid (vinegar and lime juice) and observed fizzing and the rocks breaking down.

MOTH Update!

Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s March of the Hawks walk. Your generosity, encouragement, and school spirit made this event a wonderful success for our students and our school community.

Congratulations to our individual winners who earned the most pledges—Emma Sannes, Juliana Marcellis, Noah Niemuth, Chase Pelkowski, and Anthony Burnt—for their outstanding efforts - they each won a cool prize, a T-shirt, and will have a pizza party with Fr. Tim next week!! We also extend a special congratulations to our fifth-grade class for the class earning the most pledges and taking home a T-shirt, too.

We are truly grateful to all who participated and supported the March of the Hawks. Your involvement helps make opportunities like this possible and allows our students to continue to shine.

Holiday Boutique Update!

The committee is pleased to share that the boutique was a wonderful success, raising $16,042.

In addition, $525 in product has been donated to the 2026 Parish and School Auction, and approximately five overflowing carts of food were collected for the St. Gabriel/St. Boniface Food Pantry.

Our sincere thanks to all the volunteers, shoppers, vendors, and committee members whose time and talents made this event possible. Your generosity and support are deeply appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you again next November!

Fish Fry Update!

Thank you to everyone who braved the cold to make our church and school fish fry such a success. Your hard work, generosity, and joyful spirit created an incredible evening of community.

We were so busy we actually ran out of food — a true sign of how many people you served with kindness. Over 250 guests enjoyed a meal because of you.

We are deeply grateful for your time and dedication.

PARISH NEWS

VBS at St. Gabriel!

Our VSB will be in the morning, the week of June 22-26 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Through worship and drama, Bible study, art projects, and active games, children learn that there are many opportunities and ways to live as peacemakers. Passport to Peace invites children to see every person as part of God’s family, and every interaction as an opportunity for peacemaking.

In a world that is too often divided by race, class, ethnicity, and country of origin, Passport to Peace is a reminder that the love of God and the way of peace transcend all borders and divisions. All are welcome in the family of God. Led by God’s Spirit, we can all participate in creating a more peaceful world.

Open to all school and parish incoming K5 - 5th-grade students.

Wear comfortable clothes and bring a snack.

Led by Mrs. Erdmann and Mrs. Kohls, and Mrs. Rosenberg from our parish formation program.
