Massive Cyber Attack Heard Around the World

As of March 12, 2024

By now most of you are probably aware of the recent cyber attack on UnitedHealth Group-owned company Change HealthCare that began February 21. Per Change HealthCare website, affected pharmacy billing may return on March 15th and medical claims services may be restored on March 18th. Currently, Gilead has a work around for Patient Assistant Programs and Lilly has a work around for Zepbound and Mounjaro copay cards. Patients must download a new copay card. Please refer them to Savings Card, Cost & Coverage Support | Zepbound (tirzepatide) (lilly.com) or Savings & Resources | Mounjaro® (tirzepatide) (lilly.com).

Always ADAPting - Exploring the ADAP Formulary

The AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) provides eligible CA residents with free medications used to treat and suppress HIV/AIDS and related opportunistic infections.

Wondering if a particular medication is covered by ADAP? Click on the links below for the formularies. Bookmark these links for easy reference when prescribing medications to your patients enrolled in ADAP. If a medication is not on the formulary, pharmacies will need to contact the prescriber to switch to a covered medication. Please contact the pharmacists if you have any questions about the ADAP formulary.

Deleting Outdated Notes in E-Scripts

As part of our ongoing commitment to streamline communication and ensure accurate prescription processing, we would like to draw your attention to outdated notes in e-scripts. Old notes in the “notes” section of an e-script persist as long as the prescription continues to be refilled, unless manually removed. Pharmacy often encounters e-scripts containing outdated notes, e.g. dosage changes, changes in medication, or notes related to a patient's vacation supply. While these notes are valuable for patient care, they can inadvertently lead to confusion and potential errors when not deleted for future refills. To enhance clarity, we kindly request your assistance in deleting old notes when refilling medications by e-script in Veradigm. Thank you so much for assisting with this collaborative effort to contribute to more efficient prescription management.
