Savor the Season at Opening Weekend!

We’re excited to kick off the 2025 Grinnell Farmers Market season this Thursday, May 8! We have a slate of community events planned this season and are thrilled to have you join us in the heart of downtown, Central Park!

Opening weekend will be this Thursday, May 8, from 3-6 p.m. and Saturday, May 10, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The Grinnell Farmers Market is a 100% producer-grown or made market, meaning that all items for sale are entirely grown or made by the vendor or immediate family members in the state of Iowa. Enjoy the luxuries of local, fresh, and handmade goods Thursdays and Saturdays, through October 18!

New Hours at Saturday Market

Based on customer and vendor feedback, we updated Saturday market times for the 2025 season! On Saturdays, you can expect vendors open from 9:30 a.m. and until closing at noon. Thursday market hours will continue to run from 3-6 p.m.

Note: The Grinnell Farmers Market is a SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) certified market, which requires our market and vendors to follow a set start time. Purchases can be made once the whistle has blown!

Information About Tokens and SNAP



The Grinnell Farmers Market will accept cash transactions but will have additional ways to pay. On the corner of Broad St. and 4th Ave., the Market will have a card reader available for those wishing to purchase debit/credit tokens for market purchases. Tokens can also be purchased with SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) EBT cards for food products.

The Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) program will continue for the 2025 season, as well. Customers are able to earn DUFB when purchasing SNAP tokens or spend DUFB earned at Fareway for qualifying products at Market. Learn more on the DoubleUpIowa.org website.

Customer Survey Opening at Start of Season

In recognizing the value of Grinnell Farmers Market shopper experiences, the Farmers Market will open a 2025 Farmers Market Customer Survey on May 8 to gather feedback throughout the Market season.

If you encounter a specific situation that needs immediate attention, email the Chamber of Commerce, communications@getintogrinnell.com, or call 641-236-6555. Market manager Lauren Emge will also be available onsite at Market.

Build-A-Bouquet Crawl with Farmers Market

On Saturday, May 10, Farmers Market vendors will collaborate with participating businesses to hand out flowers to mothers and mother figures for our Build-A-Bouquet Crawl. Join us in building a bouquet!

Call for Local Artists

The Farmers Market is seeking local musicians to play during Market hours. If you or someone you know is interested, contact the Chamber of Commerce, 641-236-6555, or email communications@getintogrinnell.com.

Lauren Emge is the Grinnell Farmers Market on-site market manager! She will be on the corner of Broad St. and 4th Ave on Saturdays, starting May 10. Emge is an Iowa native and has degrees in art history and painting from St. Ambrose University. She also works as the Youth Education Coordinator at the Grinnell Area Arts Council.

In addition to managing the Farmers Market card reader, Lauren can help you find specific products or vendors. She is always happy to answer any questions about market, too. Stop by and say hi!

Launching this week is our first full seasonal guide, showcasing some of the produce - and their health benefits - that will be available at Farmers Market throughout the month of May. Some produce lined up for opening weekend is rhubarb, spinach, radishes, and cucumbers!
