This year, the side lot of Settlement Music School's Germantown Branch has been transformed into the beautiful new performance stage and playground, Germantown Playformance Park! The park serves as a recreation space for the School's Kaleidoscope preschool and afterschool programs and will also feature performances on its Timken Foundation Stage.

The park was officially opened on Wednesday, September 28, featuring a performance of children's music from our faculty member Denise Nix. The event was attended by Carl Rapp, President of Philadelphia Gear, a Timken Company, Craig Swartz, General Counsel of Philadelphia Gear, a Timken Company, as well as Jim Buck of 25th Century Foundation and co-owner of the Phillies, who all helped hold up a banner that the children ran through, deeming the park officially open for play!

Other donors for the Germantown Playformance Park include McLean Contributionship, Caroline Holdship Trust, Nana Fund, friends and family of Les Rosenwinkel (a Chestnut Hill resident, former Germantown Board member, and architect who helped conceptualize the project), and the Germantown Branch Board, in addition to many others.

Come visit Germantown Playformance Park when you're at the Branch, and stay tuned for more information on future events and performances!
