DR. TOM JOHNSON STANDS WITH THE GOVERNOR OF THE KOM PROVINCE, CAMBODIA

For thirty years, Operation Renewed Hope has obtained government permission to conduct clinics. In one country, it was necessary to obtain lawyers costing over $5000.00 in legal fees. We want to answer any opposition with legal paperwork. On occasions, this type of proof of legality has been a "life saver."

Medical officials regularly visit during the working days of our clinics. Often we have assigned national doctors assist us or monitor our efforts. Even politicians attend our clinic days to show their support. Television, radio, and newspapers get involved for publication of our work days. Staff have even been taken to studios for live television and interview programs for syndication. Since we do not know who may come, it is essential our clinics have official paperwork.

Dan Jones, CEO Operation Renewed Hope, wrote about the process of approvals.

"ORH always seeks to be above reproach by honoring the host country's law to conduct a medical clinic. This is often a difficult and time-consuming process which can result in delays or closed doors, but God has always honored this process.   

ORH appreciates Dr. Tom Johnson’s diligence in following the proper channels to obtain the permissions for the upcoming January 2023 medical team in Cambodia.   Dr. Tom advised that obtaining permissions is becoming increasingly difficult.

Although the process is often very involved, last week, permission was obtained successfully!! We praise the Lord for the open door, and we covet your prayers for Team Cambodia."

Every year on average 4000 people hear the Gospel through the evangelistic clinics. Many receive Christ, and churches are formed or strengthened. Please pray, that God will "make straight" our way to protect all missionaries and medical and non-medical volunteers by entering a country legally.

Cambodia

January 14-23, 2023

Place: Oral Province, Kompot, Cambodia.

Cost estimate: $2950.00 (Dependent on airfare)

Clinic: Team Cambodia will travel to Kompot, Cambodia, to work with Dr. Tom Johnson, Missionary with BWM.   Dr. Johnson advises that there is no church in this area.  He would like to utilize the clinic to reach people with the gospel with the long-term goal of planting a church.

Kosovo

May 13-21, 2023

Place: Gjkova and Klina, Kosovo

Cost estimate: $2800 (Dependent on airfare)

Team Kosovo 2023 will travel to Gjkova, Kosovo, with Missionary Michael Fiocchi to help Pastor Jeton Skoli reach the people of Kosovo with the Gospel.   The clinics will be in Gjkova and also in Klina. There is an existing church in Gjkova and a new church plant in Klina. 

Bolivia

July 22-30, 2023

Place: Riberalta, Bolivia

Cost estimate: $2800 (Dependent on airfare)

Team Bolivia 2023 will travel to Riberalta, Bolivia, to help Missionary Kenneth Ellzey reach the people of Bolivia with the Gospel.   Riveralta is situated in the Bolivian jungle near the Brazilian border. The clinics will be in an existing church and an area for a possible future church plant.



Uganda

October 7–15. 2023

Place: Masaka, Uganda

Cost estimate: $2800 (Dependent on airfare)

Team Uganda 2023 will travel to Masaka, Uganda, to help Missionary Keith Stesaas reach the people of Uganda with the Gospel.   The clinic will be held in a rural community north of Masaka.  The clinics will be in a school building near an existing church.

All clinics need Doctors, Advance Practice Clinicians, Dentists, Optometrists, Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, and non-medical personnel to volunteer.
