Director's Note

In 2022, Attorney General Phil Weiser negotiated agreements with several companies. As a result, Colorado is set to receive more than $700 million over 18 years from national opioid settlements to save lives and help the people in our state experiencing opioid addiction recover.
The Colorado Opioid Settlement Memorandum of Understanding allocated 80% of all opioid settlement funds directly to the 19 Regions and local governments across the state. We encourage community stakeholders to reach out to their Regional Opioid Abatement Councils to learn more about how funds are being allocated in their communities.

In 2023, we will start to see the impact of these funds across the state, with $27 million already released with more to come in the upcoming months. Communities are already starting to implement innovative strategies across the states, and we are excited to see what we can achieve together.

Thank you for your partnership in this work.
