Opportunities Abound at the 29th Annual Showcase

There are plenty of ways to optimize the opportunities presented at this year's Showcase for Commerce, May 29-31. Online registration is now closed, but attendees can still register at the registration area at the 1st Summit Arena@Cambria County War Memorial. For information about any of the Showcase events, click here.

On Thursday, May 30, the lineup includes the Government Contracting Workshop, a Supplier Briefing featuring Martin-Baker America and Kongsberg, and the Government Acquisition Leaders Briefings with luncheon keynote speaker, General John M. Murray, Army Futures Command. Additional speakers for this event include: BG Ross Coffman, Director, Next Generation Combat Vehicle-Cross Functional Team; Peter Errante, Deputy Product Manager-Crew Served Weapons; and Jim Cassidy, Director, Electric Boat for Supply Chain, General Dynamics.  

Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson will offer the keynote speech at the Murtha Breakfast on Friday morning, May 31.  

In addition, don’t miss the Public Exhibition from 9:30 to 2:00 p.m on Friday. PITTchFest will be held from 11:00 to 1:00. Showcase will conclude with a Johnstown-themed Closing Reception from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m..

Martin-Baker America Hosts Forum

Approximately 50 guests attended a Government Business Development Forum at Martin-Baker America on May 15. Attendees heard a brief presentation about the company from Matt Johnson, Vice President/General Manager of Martin Baker-America. 

Following the presentation, members of the Martin-Baker team conducted tours of the 72,000 square foot facility which is located at 169 JARI Drive. Martin-Baker is the world’s largest manufacturer of ejection and crash-worthy seats and can proudly boast that 7,605 lives have been saved with Martin-Baker seats.

C3 Event Held at Carnegie Mellon University

On May 20, members of JARI PTAC attended C3: Creating Opportunities, Connecting Resources, Contracting Diversity at Carnegie Mellon University. The daylong event provided opportunities to network with federal, state, and local government agencies. Prime contractors, universities, support organizations, and other large and small businesses were also in attendance.

Attendees had the opportunity to connect with representatives, attend training sessions, and market their products and services. Six sessions were offered with topics such as obtaining certifications, proposal development, finding federal contract opportunities, and more.
