The 2023-24 fiscal year marked the third consecutive year exceeding $1 billion in research funding, an accomplishment limited to few public universities in the nation.

UC Davis’ success in attaining this level of funding and delivering global impact is a testament to the broad ingenuity and passion of our faculty, researchers and staff throughout the university. You can read more about the funding in our recent press release.

While impressive, the number is less important than the ultimate impact it makes possible. Insight and innovations from research at UC Davis continue to unlock advancements on a global scale. We are also excited to announce that we are moving office locations into Mrak Hall on the fourth floor and look forward to increasing our accessibility for those on campus.

Research Development Toolbox

Our Proposal Development Services team (aka PDS, formerly known as Interdisciplinary Research Support) recently launched a highly informative Research Development Toolbox, where you can browse an extensive library of proposal templates and tools, find information about upcoming workshops and more.

Launch of the Comprehensive Research Core Directory

The Research Core Facilities Program (RCFP) is pleased to announce the launch of the Research Core Directory, a new resource designed to enhance the visibility and accessibility of shared research services, facilities, and expertise across various disciplines. This comprehensive directory serves as a one-stop shop for researchers, streamlining how to access shared instrumentation and services needed to conduct research.

Tahoe Environmental Research Center Offers Faculty and Students Opportunities Beyond Lake Science

As the premiere research institute protecting Lake Tahoe, TERC offers a wide range of opportunities to UC Davis faculty and staff including specialized labs, research vessels, field equipment, offices and meeting spaces to support research efforts. Yuba Water, UC Davis, Wheatland and Beale Air Force Base move forward with plans for research

The partnership aims to address regional challenges such as flooding, wildfire, emergency response, agricultural technology, and water and energy management by leveraging each organization’s expertise. Initial projects already underway include training artificial intelligence to analyze large datasets for rapid decision-making during emergencies, like a pandemic or natural disasters.
