Simon J. Atkinson

Vice Chancellor for Research

The 2023-24 fiscal year marked the third consecutive year exceeding $1 billion in research funding, an accomplishment limited to few public universities in the nation.

UC Davis’ success in attaining this level of funding and delivering global impact is a testament to the broad ingenuity and passion of our faculty, researchers and staff throughout the university. You can read more about the funding in our recent press release.

While impressive, the number is less important than the ultimate impact it makes possible. Insight and innovations from research at UC Davis continue to unlock advancements on a global scale. You can read about examples of how our research is leading to a better tomorrow in our Annual Research Impact Report.

We are also excited to announce that we are moving office locations into Mrak Hall on the fourth floor and look forward to increasing our accessibility for those on campus.
