Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is looking to fill several Public Agent positions in their Contact Tracing Center (CTC) at the Roberts Center for Pediatric Research (734 Schuylkill Ave, Phila., PA 19146).

In the wake of the global pandemic, contact tracing has become a critical method used by many organizations to identify people who have had close contact with those infected by COVID-19. These roles are initially temporary through a contractor, with the opportunity to move to permanent based on work performance and CHOP’s staffing needs. Overview
A Public Agent gathers information via telephone from patients and staff about their close contact with potentially, or confirmed, COVID-positive individuals. Responsibilities include providing infectious and potentially infected individuals with resources and instruction on appropriate next steps over the phone.
Tasks completed at the Contact Tracing Center
  • Answer calls from the public and CHOP employees to the Coronavirus Resource line
  • Document all phone encounters and employee risk assessments
  • Register and schedule employee and pediatric patients for drive-thru testing
  • Assist with team projects/assignments to help alleviate call center workflow on an as-needed basis
  • Contact tracing of all potential exposures at CHOP
  • Support future infectious disease exposures, patient safety events, and national medication recalls

Training
Several hours of paid, on-site training and support will be provided during day and/or evening shifts at the CHOP Roberts Center where the Contact Tracing Center is located. There are further opportunities to expand beyond the Public Agent role at the CTC with continued on-site training to become EPIC certified, become a CTC Agent, and even move into a Tracer Role.
Pay and Benefits
  • $18 an hour
  • Benefit packages available for those who choose to work full time schedules
Schedules
Full-time and part-time shifts available during day, evening, and overnight. CHOP’s goal is to move people into permanent positions through this employment relationship with their in-house hiring partner, Right Sourcing. New hires can earn permanent work at CHOP based on skill, aptitude, and need.

CHOP is asking for a minimum 12-week commitment from new hires at no less than 16 hours/week, but they want people who will commit to 36-40 hours per week!
