Arts Council Greater Lansing is seeking an administrative assistant! The ideal candidate will be responsible, take initiative, multitask with ease and work well as part of a remote team. The Administrative Assistant will clearly and personably communicate with stakeholders, including but not limited to: board, staff, interns, donors, sponsors and students.
We are seeking a polished professional who enjoys interacting with people, creatively solving problems and working collaboratively toward real change. The administrative assistant will report to the executive director using strategically-aligned organizational goals for capacity building: increasing revenue through contributions, grants, memberships, sponsorships and more. Arts Council Greater Lansing announces a call to artist members for its annual "Art in the Sky Billboard Program." This juried digital billboard project for 2020/2021 is now open. Six artists' works will be selected and featured on Adams Outdoor Advertising digital billboards in and around the Greater Lansing region beginning in December and throughout next year. Lansing Art Gallery announces a call to artists for its annual curated holiday show Michigan Made Holiday Art Exhibition, featuring Michigan artists. They are seeking contemporary fine art, inspired modern craft and items designed by Michigan makers. Application deadline is Oct. 2, 2020. Learn more.
City of East Lansing announces a call to artists for the 58th annual East Lansing Art Festival (ELAF) taking place on May 22-23, 2021. With room for 200 artists and $6,000 in artist awards, there’s no better place to share your art. The ELAF is a juried show. All artists will be required to jury into the festival. Allen Neighborhood Center is in search of qualified artists to submit proposals for a mural to be placed on the east wall of the new Kircher Complex at 1600 E. Kalamazoo St. This mural will act as the backdrop to the newly constructed Allen Place Solar Courtyard. Application deadline is Nov. 6, 2020. Learn more.
Family Harvest Festival in Sunfield, Michigan is seeking artists and crafters for their live Halloween-themed event that will include arts and crafts, food trucks, contests, games trick-or-treating and more. Northville Art House of Northville, Michigan, announces a call to artists for its "Small Works Juried Exhibition" held from Nov. 11 – Dec. 12, 2020, to showcase contemporary artworks on a diminutive scale. Artists, 18 and over, may submit a maximum of six works of art. Learn more.
"Midwest RAD Fest" of Midwest Regional Alternative Dance is accepting submissions for it's virtual festival being held on March 5-7, 2021. The festival is a juried event at the Epic Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan, featuring the best in modern, post-modern and contemporary dance from all over the country. Application deadline is Oct. 31, 2020. They are also offering scholarships to cover entry fees. Learn more.

Winning Writers announces its "18th Annual Tom Howard/Margaret Reid Poetry Contest." Poets may submit poems on any theme, up to 250 lines each. Poems must be written in English. Published and unpublished works accepted. Up to $8,000 in prizes. Application deadline is Sept. 30, 2020. Learn more.
Slowart Productions announces "Emerging Artists" the 29th annual competition for gallery exhibition and publication awards. This exhibition is devoted to the discovery, introduction and promotion of emerging artists. It will be held March 4-27, 2021, at the Limner Gallery and is open to all artists working in any media. In an effort to strengthen civic identity and community, and create a cultural economy, the Village of Dimondale recently adopted a public arts ordinance.
