Pastor Trudy's Message
Putting away the old things! I know that many people think about spring cleaning, but I like a good New Year’s cleaning. Evaluating which Christmas things get to stay in the box for next year and which get a new home. Jesus gets right to work in our Gospel reading- not putting away old items but old ideas. He invites the people to shift their ideas about what healing can look like and who is most in need of it. Are you ready to ponder some new ideas about yourself, other people, and what it looks like for God’s kingdom to be revealed in Jesus?
God of new beginnings, You invite us to see the world through the eyes of Jesus as He shares the Good news through healing, teaching, and calling those who others overlook or detest. May our eyes be opened! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
