The New Jersey State Council on the Arts is pleased to share a multipart series of professional learning for artists called The Business of Being an Artist. This series of workshops is free and open to any artist, teaching artist, or folk artist who lives and/or works in the state of New Jersey. Join us for the

fall session, “Wellness for Artists.”

Join the Teaching Artist Community of Practice.

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts is hosting quarterly Teaching Artist Community of Practice meetings. These virtual sessions serve as a platform for teaching artists to share their experiences, discuss new opportunities, and connect with each other and the State Arts Council.


These sessions provide an opportunity to network with other New Jersey teaching artists, share challenges and successes of working in our state, and discuss what teaching artistry could look like as we move into the future.

Save the date! The Council will award New Jersey Heritage Fellowships to exemplary folk and traditional artists working to honor and preserve New Jersey’s diverse cultural heritage. These fellowships recognize artistic excellence, lifetime achievement, and contributions to our state’s traditional arts heritage. Heritage Fellowship awards are one-time, $20,000 awards to help folk and traditional artists pursue their artistic goals. The FY26 Guidelines and Application will be released on October 28, 2024.
