Opportunities for

New Jersey Artists!

The TRANSITional Art Project (TAP), a partnership of NJ TRANSIT and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, is a temporary public art program designed specifically for transportation hubs in New Jersey. The goals of TAP are to connect NJ TRANSIT customers with the surrounding community by bringing new and inspiring experiences to the spaces they pass through every day, as well as providing New Jersey artists both exhibition opportunities and a supportive environment in which to create public art.

Learn about the two current TAP opportunities at Rahway Rail Station below.

Please note: Only Central NJ artists are eligible. (Counties: Union, Somerset, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Hunterdon).

Next Meeting: June 4, 2025 | 3:00 PM ET

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts is hosting quarterly Teaching Artist Community of Practice meetings. These virtual sessions serve as a platform for teaching artists to share their experiences, discuss new opportunities, and connect with each other and the State Arts Council.

These sessions provide an opportunity to network with other New Jersey teaching artists, share challenges and successes of working in our state, and discuss what teaching artistry could look like as we move into the future.
